KASTIGARH, AUGUST 11: As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations and the Viksit Bharat@2047 Campaign, Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, organised a series of awareness-driven and creative activities focusing on national unity, environmental sustainability and a drug-free lifestyle. The events were conducted under the guidance of Principal Prof. Koushal Kumar Mangotra and witnessed active participation from students, faculty and staff.
The celebrations commenced with a Pledge Ceremony, where participants solemnly vowed to contribute towards fostering harmony, patriotism and peace within society. This was followed by a Plantation Drive inside the college campus, during which students and staff planted fast-growing saplings to promote environmental responsibility and highlight the importance of a healthy ecosystem in building a healthier society.
To encourage creativity and social awareness among youth, the college organised a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India). Students showcased their artistic skills and conveyed powerful anti-drug messages through visually impactful posters, inspiring their peers to join the fight against substance abuse.
The Principal lauded the enthusiasm of the participants, stating, “These initiatives not only celebrate the spirit of Independence but also instill in our youth the values of unity, sustainability and social responsibility. Such programmes are essential in building a progressive and drug-free India.”
The successful execution of the activities was made possible through the guidance of faculty members Dr Sumit Kotwal, Prof. Sat Pal, Dr Anupam Lata and Dr Arjun Singh.
