KATHUA, AUGUST 11: As part of the ongoing celebrations of 79th Independence Day and under the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the GLDM Government Degree College Hiranagar, under the aegis of District Administration Kathua, today organised a grand Tiranga Rally in the college campus and adjoining areas.
The rally was flagged off by Principal Dr Pragya Khanna, who on the occasion highlighted the Tricolour as the symbol of unity, sovereignty and the rich cultural heritage of the nation. She urged the youth to actively participate in such initiatives to foster patriotism and civic responsibility.
Earlier, the Tiranga Integrity Pledge was administered to all participants, reaffirming their commitment to uphold constitutional values and contribute towards national unity and development.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, teaching and non-teaching staff who carried the National Flag and raised patriotic slogans, drawing attention from the local populace along the route.
The event was organised by the NSS Unit in collaboration with the Physical Education Department of the college. The organising team included Director Physical Education Prof. Balbir Singh, NSS Programme Officer Prof. Shapia Shameem and Convener Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan Prof. Rakesh Sharma.
The programme concluded with the administration of the Integrity Pledge in Hindi and English by NSS Volunteer Shavi Sharma.
