GGM Science, College organizes “solid waste management & best from waste” event to promote environmental responsibility

Jammu 11 August :- The Department of Zoology, in collaboration with the Eco-Environment / E-Waste Committee, successfully organized an impactful event on “Solid Waste Management & Best from Waste”, aimed at spreading awareness about waste reduction, recycling, and creative reuse of discarded materials. The event was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The programme was held under the able guidance of Dr. Rahul Kait, Head of the Department of Zoology, and Dr. Nitasha Sawhney, Convenor of the Eco-Environment / E-Waste Committee. As part of the programme, students showcased a variety of innovative models and projects, demonstrating how waste materials can be transformed into useful and aesthetic items. Dr. Brinder Kumar, Prof. Bal Krishan, and Dr. Jyotdeep Kour served as special guests and evaluated the student’s projects, appreciating their creativity, scientific approach, and environmental consciousness.

The success of the event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the organizing team, including Dr. Sheetu Raina, Dr. Neha Mahajan, Dr. Neha Sharma, Prof. Poonam Kundan, Dr. Mateen Hafiz, Prof. Asha, Prof. Reetika, Dr. Ram Krishan, Dr. Richa, and Dr. Muzzafar. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta commended the initiative and stressed the importance of integrating sustainable practices into everyday life. He encouraged students to continue exploring practical solutions for environmental challenges.The event concluded with an interactive session, leaving the audience inspired to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute towards a cleaner and greener future.
