General Manager, Northern Railway, In-depth Inspection of Srinagar to Baramulla Rail Section

Srinagar 17 November :- General Manager, Northern Railway, Ashok Kumar Verma, conducted an extensive inspection of the Srinagar-Baramulla rail section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar, and other senior divisional officials were present during the inspection. The primary purpose of the inspection was to assess the progress of ongoing works and passenger amenities.
During the inspection, the General Manager reviewed various aspects related to passenger safety, train operations, and infrastructure development. He particularly emphasized maintaining safety protocols and quality of work on this important national project. The inspection included inspection of almost all railway stations within the approximately 60-kilometer stretch from Srinagar to Baramulla. He also analyzed all passenger amenities available at the station. During the inspection, he also inspected the goods shed at Anantnag Railway Station in the Kashmir Valley. The Anantnag Goods Terminal is a key point in the rail freight network in the Kashmir Valley.

During his inspection, the General Manager directed project officials to closely monitor all work and meet set targets within the stipulated timeframe. This inspection is an important step in guiding ongoing rail projects, which will enhance connectivity and economic development in the region.
