RAMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER. 16, 2025: The Nature Club and Department of Zoology of Government Degree College Ramnagar, under the patronage ofPrincipal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, organized a one-dayPoster Making Competition to mark the celebration of World Ozone Dayhere on today.
Around 15 enthusiastic students from different streams of the collegeactively participated and showcased their creativity through postershighlighting the importance of protecting the ozone layer andconserving the environment.The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Sumita Rao,convener Nature’s club, who highlighted the significance of ozoneconservation for a sustainable future.The posters were evaluated by the esteemed panel of judges comprising Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandita, Dr. Kewal Kumar, and Prof. Ritika Mahajan,who appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged themfor their innovative ideas.
After thorough evaluation, the firstposition was bagged by Samriti Thakur Of BSc Sem-I, second positionwas bagged by Mamta Devi of Sem-III, and third position was bagged by Diksha Thakur of BSc Sem-I. All the participants were presented thecertificate of participation and light refreshment.
Further Dr. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal GDC Ramnagar, in hisaddress appreciated the efforts of the Nature Club for organizing sucha relevant programme. He urged the students to actively participate inenvironmental awareness activities and adopt eco-friendly practices intheir lives.
He further emphasized the importance of collectiveresponsibility in protecting the ozone layer and safeguarding the Planet for future generations.The proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof. Sonia Raj andformal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sham Singh Kotwal.The programme not only provided a platform for students to expresstheir artistic skills but also sensitized the attendees towards theurgent need to protect the ozone layer and contribute towardsenvironmental sustainability. Total 35 students besides participants were present at the venue.
