GCW Udhampur hosts Bootcamp

UDHAMPUR 24 SEPTEMBER : A one-day Boot Camp wasorganized at Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur incollaboration with Indian Institute of Management(IIM) Jammu .

The primary objective of the event was to cultivate problem-solving abilities and promote a culture of innovative thinking among undergraduate students. The Boot camp saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of GCW Udhampur. The attendees belonged to various academic streams, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to discussions and activities. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Preeti Dubey, Convenor Institution Innovation Council, she in her lectureintroduced about the progress made by the IIC.

Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania emphasized theimportance of research and innovation in education. Representatives from IIIM Jammu Dr. Vivek Sharma, CIO,IIMJammu,Kannav Padha, Manager-DST ITBI, IIM Jammu, DruviSharma, Dy. Manager-DSTiTBI, IIM Jammu shared the vision behind theinitiative.Experts from IIIM Jammu delivered sessions on topics suchas Critical thinking and decision-making and real-life case studies inresearch and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Vivek Sharma gave real-world problem statements tostudents and brainstormed and presented creative solutions to issuesrelated to healthcare, environment, and education. Raman Singh,Founder Blessings Pads Pvt.Ltd and IIM Incubatee shared hismotivational journey.

Students expressed keen interest in participating in similar future programs and research-based initiatives. The Boot camp was a resounding success in igniting the spirit of innovation and critical thinking among young students, particularly women. Such initiatives are vital for nurturing the next generation of thinkers,researchers, and entrepreneurs. The event ended with a formal vote ofthanks by Rachna Bharti, member IIC.
