GANDERBAL: 05 Jan 2026:- In a significant move to uphold cybersecurity and local governance, the Ganderbal Police have initiated strict preventive action against eleven individuals found using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in violation of explicit orders issued by the district administration.
During a comprehensive verification drive conducted within the jurisdictions of Ganderbal and Kangan police stations, officials identified these individuals operating digital services in contravention of the District Magistrate’s lawful directions.
Consequently, legal proceedings were launched under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the violators were produced before Executive Magistrates to be bound down for maintaining good behavior. This enforcement action is part of a broader strategy to prevent the potential misuse of digital platforms and safeguard the district’s public order.
Ganderbal Police have issued a stern warning that any further defiance of government directives will result in rigorous legal consequences, while simultaneously urging citizens to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure the secure and lawful use of digital services across the region.
