FSSAI Debunks Egg Cancer Myth: National Food Regulator Confirms Eggs Are Safe for Consumption

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 20: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has officially dismissed recent viral claims suggesting a link between egg consumption and cancer risk, labeling such reports as “misleading, scientifically unsupported, and a cause for unnecessary public alarm.”

In a formal statement released on Saturday, the national food safety regulator clarified that eggs sold across the country are entirely safe for human consumption and undergo rigorous safety standards. The FSSAI emphasized that there is no credible scientific evidence to support the presence of carcinogenic substances in eggs, reassuring the public that eggs remain a highly nutritious and safe source of protein.

By debunking these unfounded allegations, the authority aims to protect consumers from misinformation and maintain confidence in the country’s food safety ecosystem.
