Udhampur 28 September :- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh welcomed the unanimous election of Mithun Manhas as the new President of the BCCI, terming it as a matter of pride.
In a statement, Dr. Singh attributed this success to the increased emphasis on sports in the last decade under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi.He is convinced that Manhas’s captaincy will raise the BCCI’s profile and create opportunities for fresh talent, consistent with India’s emerging international sports reputation.
The Minister also pointed out that greater transparency in selection boards means merit-worthy players are spotted, something he has seen happen in Jammu and Kashmir’s cricketing circles.
