From Borderlands to Gujarat: Jammu’s Youth Embark on Cultural Odyssey at 26th Rashtra Katha Shivir

JAMMU, DECEMBER 25, 2025: Aiming to bridge geographical and cultural gaps, Jammu and Kashmir Police today flagged off a diverse group of 71 students for a transformative nine-day residency at the 26th Rashtra Katha Shivir in Pransla, Gujarat.

The contingent, comprising young minds from the remote hilly terrains of Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Reasi, was sent off from the GO Mess by Shamsheer Hussain, Staff Officer to the IGP Jammu Zone.

This initiative is designed to immerse students from border districts in national-level motivational activities, focusing on social responsibility and the spirit of “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” By facilitating this cross-country journey, the police department aims to provide these students with a platform to interact with peers from various Indian states, effectively breaking local isolation through shared national values.

To ensure a seamless experience, a dedicated team of four supervisors—Jai Paul Sharma, Rajeshwar Nath, Raju Badyal, and Malti Adhikari—has been assigned to manage the safety and logistics of the participants throughout their stay in Rajkot district.

During the briefing, Shamsheer Hussain urged the students to uphold the highest standards of discipline, reminding them that they carry the image of a progressive and peace-seeking Jammu and Kashmir.

He noted that such exposure is vital for molding future leaders who are well-versed in India’s pluralistic heritage.

The ceremony, attended by senior officials including Latif Ahmed and Mukesh Sharma, underscored a collective commitment to empowering the youth of the Union Territory through education, travel, and national integration.
