JAMMU/SRINAGAR, January 24, 2026 — The Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, has issued a fresh advisory confirming that the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) will remain closed for all vehicular movement on January 25, 2026, due to significant snow accumulation between Nachlana and the NAVYUG Tunnel.
Despite ongoing snow clearance operations, no traffic will be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) toward Doda, Ramban, Banihal, or Srinagar, nor in the reverse direction.
Additionally, the Jammu-Doda road remains blocked by snow, while other major routes including the Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag (NH-244), the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) Road, and the Mughal Road are also shut down due to fresh snowfall.
Local commuters from Katra, Reasi, and Udhampur town are advised to carry valid photo identity cards to facilitate smooth passage through check-points.
Authorities strongly urge the public to avoid any travel on these routes without first confirming road status with the Traffic Control Units (TCUs) in Jammu, Srinagar, Ramban, or Udhampur to ensure safety and prevent getting stranded.
