QAZIGUND, February 12, 2026 — At least five people were injured in a road accident on Thursday in the Qazigund area of Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident occurred when a vehicle (bearing registration number JK18A-2069) traveling from Devsar toward Kazigund suddenly veered out of control and crashed. All five occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries during the mishap.
Following the accident, local residents and police personnel rushed to the scene to initiate rescue operations. The injured individuals were immediately evacuated and shifted to the Emergency Hospital in Kazigund, where they are currently undergoing medical treatment.
Hospital officials have confirmed that the victims are under observation.The local police have registered a case regarding the incident and have launched a formal investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, though authorities are looking into whether mechanical failure or road conditions played a role in the crash.
