Farooq Abdullah Hails U.S.-Iran Dialogue, Warns War Offers No Solution to Global Crises

SRINAGAR, April 8, 2026 — National Conference President Farooq Abdullah emphasized on Wednesday that dialogue is the only viable mechanism for resolving international disputes, asserting firmly that “war is not the solution to anything” and has never yielded lasting results.

Speaking to reporters, Abdullah expressed gratitude toward global powers, specifically the United States and Iran, for their willingness to engage in diplomatic talks to settle their differences.

He congratulated the nations involved for choosing the conference table over the battlefield, noting that humanity must ultimately prevail through peace rather than the widespread destruction seen in recent conflicts.

The veteran leader also highlighted the far-reaching consequences of global instability, pointing out that prolonged tensions have severely impacted the world economy and disrupted vital energy resources.

Abdullah drew specific attention to the plight of individuals from Jammu and Kashmir employed in Gulf nations, whose livelihoods are directly tied to regional stability.

Urging a shift toward brotherhood, he called on India to maintain friendly ties with all nations and play a constructive role in peacebuilding.

Abdullah warned that any further escalation would lead to dire economic repercussions, such as soaring fuel prices and increased hardships for the common man, while reiterating his hope that ongoing negotiations lead to a permanent peace.
