JODHPUR, Feb 10, 2026 — Marking a significant milestone in India’s “Decade of Transformation,” Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, witnessed a high-octane display of future warfare capabilities during ‘Exercise Rudra Shakti–2026’.
The exercise, conducted by the Black Mace Brigade, served as a powerful demonstration of the Indian Army’s transition toward a tech-driven, future-ready force, showcasing an array of New Generation Equipment (NGE) and New Technology Equipment (NTE).The highlight of the exercise was the integration of advanced drones and loitering munitions, alongside groundbreaking indigenous R&D innovations.
The Army Commander observed live kamikaze drone strikes and precision munition deliveries executed by in-house developed platforms. These displays underscored a transformational leap in combat capability, emphasizing “stand-off lethality”—the ability to neutralize threats from a distance—and the capacity to dominate the modern battlefield through superior aerial surveillance and strike power.
Further accelerating the push for Atmanirbharta (Self-Reliance), the brigade showcased specialized tech-absorption tools, including drone jammers, mobile repair platforms, and AI-enabled enemy drone detection systems. Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth commended the formation for its innovation-driven approach, noting that the rapid adoption of indigenous technology is critical for countering emerging threat vectors.
He emphasized that building a #FutureReady force capable of handling high-intensity warfare remains the military’s top priority, ensuring the Indian Army stays ahead of the global technological curve.
