EOW Kashmir Chargesheets Kargil Resident for Fraudulent Government Job Scam

SRINAGAR – The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir has officially filed a chargesheet against a resident of Kargil for allegedly orchestrating a sophisticated job scam by posing as a high-ranking government official.

The legal action follows an investigation into FIR No. 13/2023, which was submitted before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Budgam. The accused, identified as Ghulam Nabi Hudda, a resident of Satakchay, Kargil, currently residing in Hawal, Srinagar, is charged under Section 420 of the IPC for reportedly duping multiple victims of several lakh rupees under the false pretense of securing them prestigious government employment.

The case surfaced after a written complaint detailed how the accused established contact with victims in 2021, falsely projecting himself as a senior officer with the influence to provide government placements. Relying on these deceptive assurances, the complainant deposited substantial sums into the accused’s bank account across nine separate installments.

Despite these payments, no employment was provided, and the accused failed to refund the money, leading to significant financial loss for the victims. The subsequent probe by EOW Kashmir confirmed that Hudda had intentionally deceived the public with dishonest motives.

With the investigation now complete and the allegations substantiated, the matter has been moved to the court for judicial adjudication.
