RAMBAN, AUGUST 19: On the directions of the District Administration, a joint inspection was conducted by the Drug Control Officer, Ramban and Police Authorities in various areas of Banihal to check the misuse of psychotropic drugs and identify any unregistered chemist shops.
During the inspection, the team verified licenses and records of chemist shops, scrutinized sales registers and reviewed CCTV installations to ensure proper dispensing of medicines. The drive also aimed to detect and take action against any medical establishments operating without requisite permissions.
The inspection revealed that all chemist shops checked were operating with valid licenses and proper documentation. No unlicensed medical establishments were found and the sales records showed no evidence of diversion of psychotropic drugs.The joint exercise by the Drug Control Department and Police authorities was focused on preventing drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
Officials reaffirmed that such inspections will continue as part of ongoing efforts to enforce compliance with drug regulations and to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the public.
