Eastern Army Commander Reviews Combat Readiness and Border Development in Gajraj Corps

TEZPUR, March 19, 2026 – Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, Army Commander of the Eastern Command, conducted a comprehensive review of operational activities and infrastructure development within the Gajraj Corps.

During the visit, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Gajraj Corps provided a detailed briefing on current strategic developments and ongoing efforts to bolster combat capabilities across the Corps Zone.

As part of the visit, the Army Commander inaugurated a newly established Transit Facility in the high-altitude Kameng Himalayas, designed to improve logistics and troop movement in the rugged terrain.

Beyond military infrastructure, the Army Commander lauded the Gajraj Corps for its social initiatives, specifically highlighting the establishment of the ‘Border Brew Café’ at Zemithang.

Managed by the local Monpa women community, this initiative is a key component of the Indian Army’s support for the Vibrant Village Programme, aiming to boost local livelihoods and celebrate indigenous culture while ensuring the holistic development of border areas.

Interacting with officers and personnel, the Army Commander commended the Gajraj Corps for its unwavering professionalism, dedication, and high standards of operational excellence in one of the country’s most challenging sectors.
