E-auction for allotment of Rail Coach Restaurant at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station successfully concluded

Jammu, October 24, 2025 – Northern Railway, Jammu Division successfully concluded another e-auction for the allotment of Rail Coach Restaurant at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station.This auction was successfully concluded with a contract for a total of ₹40 lakh per year for a period of five years, resulting in a total contract of ₹2.36 crore for the next five years.This successful bidding process is part of Indian Railways’ continued commitment to promote transparency, efficiency, and ease of doing business through its e-auction platform.

Following this e-auction, the Rail Coach Restaurant at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will boost tourism. This coach restaurant will provide a new dining option for passengers and will also become a new attraction for the public. It will also be a major draw for devotees from other states visiting the Mata Mandir.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, said at the e-auction, “This coach restaurant will enhance the passenger experience and highlight the Railways’ commitment to creating a new attraction around the railway station.”This will not only provide a new dining option for passengers but will also create employment opportunities in the area.
