Dr. Jitendra Singh Hosts Media Luncheon: Highlights Chandrayaan Missions, Nuclear Energy, and R&D Reforms

NEW DELHI, Jan 10 (2026): Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, hosted an informal luncheon for journalists today, facilitating a wide-ranging discussion on India’s technological and governance milestones.

During the candid interaction at his residence, the Minister highlighted the critical role of nuclear energy in India’s clean energy transition, specifically pointing to the development of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and upcoming nuclear power projects as pillars for long-term energy security.

He also provided highly anticipated updates on the nation’s space trajectory, sharing progress on the Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions, which aim to further solidify India’s position as a global leader in lunar exploration and scientific research.

The dialogue also pivoted toward major governance and research reforms, with Dr. Singh underscoring the impact of the newly announced ₹1 lakh crore RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) fund designed to bridge the gap between ideas and market impact.

He detailed how technology-driven initiatives like CPGRAMS and the Digital Life Certificate campaign are enhancing transparency and “Ease of Living” for citizens. Furthermore, the Minister touched upon the socio-economic success of the Lavender Revolution, which has transformed rural livelihoods through science-led entrepreneurship. Emphasizing the media’s role as a vital partner in nation-building, Dr. Singh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, driven by digital innovation and high-tech space applications that directly benefit the common man.
