Doda Road Accident: Husband and Wife Killed, Two Children Injured on Bhaderwah-Bani Road

DODA, MARCH 13, 2026 — A tragic road mishap near Basti Pul Nalthi on the Bhaderwah–Bani road claimed the lives of a husband and wife this morning, while leaving their two children injured.

The victims, identified as 47-year-old Zulfiqar Ali and his 42-year-old wife Rehana Begum, residents of Lawang Bani, were traveling with their family when their vehicle met with the accident. Their two sons, Kamran and Arish, sustained multiple injuries and were initially rushed to Sub-District Hospital Bhaderwah before being shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Doda for specialized care. Medical authorities have confirmed that while the children remain under close observation, their condition is currently stable.

In the wake of the accident, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh reached out to Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal via telephone, directing the district administration to provide every possible assistance and ensure the highest quality of care for the survivors.

Following these instructions, Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal visited GMC Doda to personally monitor the medical response. After being briefed by hospital staff on the treatment protocols, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Chief Medical Officer and the attending surgical team to prioritize the recovery of the two young victims.

During his visit, he interacted with the grieving family’s attendants, offering condolences for their loss and assuring them of full support from the district administration during this difficult time.
