Doda Police Secure Conviction for Public Nuisance; Court Imposes Fines Under BNS
DODA, December 29, 2025: As part of an ongoing initiative to uphold public order and community discipline, the Doda Police successfully secured a conviction against two individuals under preventive legal provisions. The case originated on December 28, 2024, when a patrolling team from the Bhaderwah Police Station apprehended two residents, identified as Parminder Singh and Joginder Singh.
The duo was found in an intoxicated state, engaging in disorderly conduct and creating a significant nuisance for the general public in the area.Following their apprehension, both individuals were produced before the Hon’ble Special Mobile Magistrate on December 29. After reviewing the evidence and completing the necessary legal proceedings, the court found them guilty of misconduct and imposed a fine of ₹1,000 each under Section 355 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Reaffirming their “People First” mission, the Doda Police stated that such actions are essential to maintaining a peaceful and safe environment. Authorities have urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement to ensure a drug-free and disciplined district.
