Doda Police Review Security Strategy and Launch Next-Gen Emergency Response System 2.0
DODA, January 28, 2026 — Sandeep Mehta, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, chaired a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at the District Police Office to evaluate law enforcement strategies and oversee the implementation of the Next Generation Emergency Response Support System 2.0 (NG-ERSS 2.0).
The session, attended by high-ranking officials including SP Ops, DySP Headquarters, and various sub-divisional officers, focused on streamlining the district’s judicial and safety protocols. Mehta performed an in-depth analysis of crime trends, noting that 980 FIRs are currently under investigation following the successful disposal of 794 cases during 2025.
To ensure swift justice, the SSP issued a strict mandate for investigators to charge-sheet sensitive cases involving murder, NDPS, UAPA, and POCSO within a 60 to 90-day window, emphasizing the mandatory integration of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) services and high-quality legal compliance.
Beyond traditional investigation, the meeting prioritized the modernization of policing through the effective utilization of CCTNS and digital portals such as e-Sakshya and ICJS to enhance transparency.
Mehta directed field officers to maintain rigorous surveillance on drug peddlers and anti-social elements to preserve communal harmony while emphasizing a proactive approach to preventing misinformation.
A critical component of the review was the readiness assessment for NG-ERSS 2.0, where the SSP inspected the logistical requirements, including transportation and manpower, necessary for a successful rollout.
By demanding a prompt response to distress calls and the adoption of public-friendly practices, the Doda Police reaffirmed their commitment to utilizing advanced infrastructure to provide a secure, crime-free environment for all citizens.
