DODA, Feb 10, 2026 — Acting swiftly on reports of national symbols being disrespected, the Doda Police have detained a local resident and registered a formal case following the emergence of a viral video showing the dishonouring of the Indian National Flag.
The incident, which drew sharp criticism on social media, involved a man identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohd Ramzan Banday and a resident of Nagri, Doda, who was allegedly seen using the Tricolour to clean the window glass of his residence.
The police action was initiated under the direct orders of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda.
