DODA, FEBRUARY 07, 2026: Demonstrating a zero-tolerance policy toward the harassment of visitors, the Doda Police have detained four individuals following an assault on a tourist in the Bhaderwah region. The incident came to light after a formal complaint was lodged at Police Station Bhaderwah by Suresh Kumar, a resident of Nagni Bhalra, regarding the physical altercation.
Acting swiftly to preserve public order and prevent a breach of peace, law enforcement initiated preventive legal action on Saturday under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The detainees have been identified as Javed Iqbal and Owais Ahmed, both residents of Kholra Basti, along with Khursheed Ahmed and Avinash Manhas from the Nalthi area of Bhaderwah. Following their apprehension, all four suspects were produced before the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Bhaderwah, for further judicial proceedings.
