Doda Police Attaches Property Worth ₹45.32 Lacs of Notorious Drug Peddler in Sadiqabad
Doda, 25 August :In a major crackdown on narco-smuggling networks, Doda Police today attached property valued at ₹45.32 lakh, belonging to the most notorious drug peddler operating in the district.The attached asset comprises a double-storey residential house located at Sadiqabad, Doda, which was identified as being acquired from proceeds of illicit narcotics trade.
The proceedings were executed by SHO Doda Insp Parvez Khandey and DySP Hqrs Doda Ajay Anand in the presence of the concerned Executive Magistrate First Class under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.This action is directly connected to an FIR registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act at Police Station Doda against Shakeela Begum @ Taya w/o Farooq Ahmed r/o Sadeeqabad Doda, who was arrested in the same FIR as a forward link, as main drug supplier and is currently languishing in Bhaderwah Jail.
The move is part of the District Police’s broader strategy to hit drug traffickers where it hurts most – their illegally earned assets and financial gains. The accused has remained involved in 04 FIRs of illicit trade of Narcotic Substance. Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Sandeep Mehta- JKPS, while highlighting the action, said:Doda Police is fully committed to wiping out the menace of drugs from the district. Our approach is not limited to arrests; we are determined to dismantle the entire ecosystem of drug trafficking by targeting both the perpetrators and their unlawfully acquired wealth.
We will continue to take strict legal action against all those involved in this nefarious trade.”He further appealed to the general public, especially youth, to stay away from drugs and support police by sharing information about drug peddlers and their activities, assuring that the identity of informers will be kept confidential.
