DKR Range Police Mark 77th Republic Day with Major Operational Successes and Flag Hoisting at Batote

BATOTE, January 26, 2026 – The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at the Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) in Batote, where Deputy Inspector General of Police Shridhar Patil unfurled the National Flag.

The ceremony featured a disciplined ceremonial salute from contingents of the B-Coy IRP 16th Battalion and RPHQ personnel. During his address, Patil paid tribute to the martyrs and commended the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces for their relentless efforts in maintaining peace across the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range.

Reviewing the year’s achievements, Patil highlighted significant successes in counter-terrorism, including the neutralization of three foreign terrorists in Kishtwar and the seizure of properties belonging to 22 terror associates.

The range also saw a massive crackdown on narcotics, with 77 cases registered under the NDPS Act, over 100 arrests, and the seizure of assets valued at ₹58.96 lakh. Additionally, the police recovered stolen property worth ₹92.88 lakh and improved case disposal efficiency to 82%, while road safety enforcement resulted in more than 20,000 challans issued to ensure public safety on the highways.

The DIG also underscored advancements in modern policing, specifically the upgrading of Cyber Cells to full Cyber Police Stations, which facilitated the recovery of ₹2.45 crore in cyber fraud cases. He lauded the force’s humanitarian role during natural disasters, particularly the timely rescue operations following recent flash floods and cloudbursts.

Furthermore, the “Bharosa” initiative for women empowerment was praised for benefiting over 5,300 women and contributing to a decline in crimes against women. Reaffirming the commitment of all ranks, Patil pledged to continue upholding constitutional values and serving the nation with integrity.
