Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Reviews Revenue Digitization and Public Service Delivery
SRINAGAR, January 11, 2026: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, chaired a comprehensive high-level meeting on Monday with all Deputy Commissioners of the Kashmir division to evaluate the progress of critical administrative tasks and public welfare initiatives.
A primary focus of the session was the digitization of Jamabandis and the acceleration of online service delivery to enhance transparency and efficiency within the revenue department. Garg directed district heads to simultaneously process all revenue-related matters, ensuring that the transition to digital land records remains a top priority for the division.
The Divisional Commissioner also placed heavy emphasis on the timely resolution of pending SRO-43 cases, specifically those involving the families of terror victims. He instructed Deputy Commissioners to expedite these appointments and maintain close coordination with relevant agencies to clear any administrative bottlenecks.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the mutation of defense land and the systematic inventory of migrant properties, with clear directives issued to complete land transfers to security agencies within a strict, time-bound framework.
In addition to administrative reforms, the Div Com addressed pressing social and governance issues, including the redressal of public and migrant grievances received through various channels.
Amid the ongoing drug de-addiction campaign, Garg mandated regular inspections of private coaching centers and the intensification of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities.
He reiterated the necessity of monthly NCORD meetings at the district level to monitor the progress of anti-drug initiatives, ensuring a proactive and synchronized approach to public service across the Kashmir division.
