UDHAMPUR,21 SEPTEMBER: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Saloni Rai and Director General Rural Sanitation J&K Anoo Malhotra, a district level Safaimitra Suraksha Shivir camp was organised by Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Office here, at Kallar.
Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh was the chief guest. The camp was attended by ACD Om Parkash; ACP Dr. Ashwani Hansa; Block Development Officer Sahil Bhagotra, Section officer Himayat Mission, representatives from District Social welfare Office and a medical team from CMO Office.
As many as 34 Safaimitras (Sanitation workers) were examined/checked by the Team of doctors and their blood samples and sputum were collected for TB and NCD screening. Further, T-shirts and caps under the IEC component of SBM-G scheme were also distributed among the sanitation workers by the Chief Guest in presence of other officers.
Departmental stalls were also established by different departments in the camp to spread awareness about the government schemes.The ADDC stressed upon the sanitation workers to adopt cleanliness and hygiene in their routine day to day life and use kits while cleaning the area and go for timely medical check-up, including TB screening and other diseases.
He also impressed upon the Safaimitras to take benefit of the social welfare and financial inclusion schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY etc.The ACP made the Sanitation workers and local people aware about the activities to be taken up during the Sewa Parv 2025 campaign. He advised the people to boil drinking water to prevent and control water borne and vector borne diseases.
Further, representatives of social welfare office and Himayat mission also imparted awareness to sanitation workers about their Departmental schemes and asked them to take benefit of the same.
