Dindigul School Ground Named in Honor of CISF Martyr Solai Alagumalai
Authoor, Tamil Nadu March 22, 2026: In a poignant tribute to bravery and sacrifice, a formal naming ceremony was held at the Government Higher Secondary School in Authoor, Dindigul, to dedicate the school ground to the memory of CISF Martyr Head Constable Solai Alagumalai.
Enrolled in the Central Industrial Security Force in 1983, Alagumalai made the supreme sacrifice on June 20, 2003, during a fierce encounter with militants at the CISF Unit OIL Duliajan in Assam. Demonstrating exceptional gallantry, he successfully eliminated one attacker before succumbing to bullet injuries sustained in the line of duty.
The ceremony, which immortalizes his legacy under the sentiment of “Name Immortal, Inspiration Immortal,” serves as a permanent reminder of his selfless service to the nation.The event was chaired by Deputy Commandant Sachin Ingole, who was joined by fellow CISF personnel, school officials, and a large gathering of students.
Principal Arunthathi delivered the welcome address, while PTA President Innasi Antony Raj and SMC President Panjavarnam also marked their presence to honor the fallen hero. During the proceedings, the martyr’s family shared an emotional tribute, expressing their deep gratitude to the CISF for preserving his memory.
By naming this center of youth activity after Alagumalai, the community ensures that his values of courage and duty will continue to inspire future generations of students for decades to come.
