Jammu 17 December :- In a transformative move to bridge the educational divide, the Samagra Shiksha department of Jammu and Kashmir has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG-N).
This strategic collaboration, signed under the leadership of Secretary Ram Niwas Sharma and Project Director Bhawani Rakwal, paves the way for a dedicated DTH educational television channel named “JK e-Pathshala.” By utilizing the GSAT-15 satellite and the Doordarshan DTH platform, the initiative aims to beam high-quality, curriculum-aligned lessons directly into homes, specifically targeting students in remote and underserved regions who lack consistent internet access.
Under this agreement, BISAG-N will manage the technical heavy lifting—including satellite transmission, infrastructure, and MPEG-4 technology support—while Samagra Shiksha will focus on academic planning and content creation. To ensure maximum impact, the educational programming will be broadcast both live and in recorded formats, with simultaneous streaming on social media platforms to create a truly accessible digital learning ecosystem for every learner in the Union Territory.
