DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Honors Top Performers in Advanced Police Tactics Training

UDHAMPUR | April 1, 2026 — Sarah Rizvi-IPS, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, formally recognized and felicitated high-achieving trainees for their exceptional performance during the Field Craft and Weapon Handling Course at the District Police Office (DPO) Udhampur.

The distinguished personnel honored included Constable Parshotam Singh, Constable Arun Kumar, and SPO Sukhdev Singh, all of whom demonstrated superior proficiency throughout the rigorous training.

This specialized course, currently being conducted at the District Police Lines (DPL) Udhampur, is a strategic initiative designed to sharpen the operational capabilities of Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel.

The comprehensive curriculum covers a modern array of tactical skills, ranging from advanced weapon handling and firing practices to counter-IED awareness, intelligence collection, and drone operations, ensuring that the force remains adept at navigating the complexities of modern security challenges.

The training program is marked by its intensive, realistic approach, incorporating both day and night sessions to simulate actual operational conditions and maximize personnel preparedness. Trainees undergo a series of demanding practical drills, including obstacle courses, mock Cordoned and Search Operation (CASO) exercises, rescue missions, and night domination maneuvers.

Now in its fourth iteration, this specific batch commenced training on March 23, 2026, following a successful series of cycles that began earlier this year in mid-February.

By prioritizing these continuous training modules, the Udhampur Police aim to foster a culture of excellence and maintain a high state of readiness, ultimately strengthening the security framework of the district and its surrounding areas.
