DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Chairs Comprehensive Crime Review Meeting at DPL Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, March 14, 2026 — Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur–Reasi Range, Sarah Rizvi, chaired a high-level crime review meeting today at the District Police Lines (DPL) Udhampur to assess the regional security landscape and operational efficiency.

The session was attended by SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure, Additional SP Sandeep Bhat, Abhijeet Sirohi, and Darshan Singh, alongside Senior Police Officers, SDPOs, and all Station House Officers (SHOs) of the district.

During the proceedings, Amod Nagpure provided a detailed briefing on the district’s recent achievements and an overall performance assessment regarding criminal investigations and allied administrative matters.

The review placed a primary focus on the status of NDPS cases, crimes against women, and the resolution of long-pending investigations.

Detailed discussions were held on the implementation of modern legal frameworks and digital policing tools, including E-Sakshya, E-Summons, Zero FIR, and e-FIR protocols.

The DIG also evaluated progress on inquest proceedings, trial in absentia, and the mandatory involvement of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams at crime scenes.

SDPOs from various sub-divisions presented comparative data on case disposal rates, particularly highlighting advancements in tackling heinous crimes and narcotics trafficking within their respective jurisdictions.

In her concluding remarks, Sarah Rizvi directed officers to expedite the investigation of pending cases and ensure the timely execution of all court processes. She emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward drug abuse and instructed the force to intensify preventive policing through enhanced vehicle checking, surprise checkpoints (nakas), and increased patrolling.

Stressing the importance of grassroots policing, the DIG urged officers to maintain a high level of commitment to public service. In response, Amod Nagpure assured the chair that all directives issued during the meeting would be strictly implemented on the ground to bolster public safety.
