DIG South Kashmir Reviews UAPA and Crime Investigations in Anantnag Security Meet
ANANTNAG, APRIL 13:-Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, presided over a high-level security and crime review meeting today at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag to evaluate the progress of investigations related to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and general criminal cases.
Attended by SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS and senior jurisdictional officers, the session focused on the critical need for the time-bound disposal of pending cases while maintaining the highest standards of investigative integrity. DIG Matoo issued strict directives to field officers to prioritize legal precision and ensure that anti-national elements are dealt with through proactive policing and robust judicial follow-up.
During the interaction, the DIG emphasized that local police units must strengthen their intelligence-gathering networks and enhance inter-agency coordination to effectively curb criminal activities across the district.
