The newly commissioned facilities include a dedicated SHO Residence Block, a modern Mess and Barracks Block, and a specialized Transit Accommodation Block, all designed to provide world-class living standards for personnel serving in the challenging terrain of North Kashmir.

Accompanied by top brass including Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Gillani and IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, the DGP emphasized that strengthening the physical framework of police establishments is critical to enhancing both the operational efficiency and the morale of the force.

By upgrading residential and transit arrangements at one of the region’s most sensitive and high-profile tourist hubs, the J&K Police aims to ensure that its officers are equipped with the best possible environment to maintain law and order and provide seamless assistance to visitors.

During the inauguration ceremony, which saw the presence of DIGs from the Central and North Kashmir Ranges and the SSP Baramulla, DGP Nalin Prabhat reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to the modernization of police establishments across the Union Territory.

He lauded the swift completion of the projects, noting that these welfare measures are central to the department’s long-term strategy of “policing with excellence.” These new facilities at PS Gulmarg are expected to serve as a blueprint for future infrastructure upgrades in other rural and high-altitude stations, ensuring that security personnel have access to reliable heating, nutrition, and housing.

The DGP concluded by stating that an empowered and well-rested force is the backbone of a safe and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, signaling that further investments in police welfare and technology remain a top priority for 2026.
