DGP J&K Reviews Sopore Security; Orders Decisive Action to Dismantle Terror Ecosystem

SOPORE, J&K — February 24, 2026Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat, visited Police District Sopore today to chair a comprehensive security review meeting focused on operational preparedness and the prevailing security environment.

Accompanied by SDG Coordination S.J.M. Geelani, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, and DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood-ul-Zaman, the DGP received a detailed briefing from SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib regarding counter-terror measures, anti-narcotics operations, and law and order management.

The review centered on refining operational strategies, intelligence grids, and area domination plans specifically designed to dismantle the terror ecosystem.

Addressing a gathering of senior officers, including SDPOs and SHOs, Prabhat emphasized the necessity for focused and sustained action against elements supporting terrorism.

He issued direct orders for decisive and uncompromising kinetic operations against Pakistani terrorists while stressing the importance of strengthened intelligence generation and seamless coordination among all security agencies.

While appreciating the ongoing efforts of the Sopore Police, the DGP urged all ranks to remain proactive and vigilant to ensure the continued peace, stability, and security of the district.
