DG SSB Sanjay Singhal Reviews West Bengal Election Security Preparedness During Siliguri Frontier Visit

Siliguri March 27, 2026 — On the second day of his high-profile tour of West Bengal, Sanjay Singhal, Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), visited the Siliguri Frontier to conduct a comprehensive review of security arrangements for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026.

During the visit, the DG chaired a strategic meeting with senior Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) officers and state officials, where he underscored the paramount importance of ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and disciplined polling process.

He emphasized that the primary objective of the deployed forces is to uphold the democratic spirit by strictly adhering to the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines while maintaining the highest levels of professional vigilance across the region.

As part of his field assessment, DG Sanjay Singhal visited the SSB Election Companies stationed at Malbazar and Naxalbari, as well as the Border Outpost (BOP) Panitanki.

During these interactions, he motivated the field commanders and troops, highlighting the various welfare initiatives under the Central Welfare Fund (CWF) aimed at supporting the personnel during their strenuous election duties.

Earlier in the day, at the 46th Battalion SSB Malbazar, the Director General reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour and addressed a Sainik Sammelan, where he personally engaged with the jawans to boost morale.

To mark the occasion and promote environmental awareness, the DG also participated in a symbolic sapling plantation ceremony at the battalion headquarters.
