Poonch, August 2025: In a significant step ahead of the nationwide launch of “Hamara Vidyalaya Hamara Swabhiman,” Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, today released the banner of the initiative in his office. The programme is part of a historic campaign of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), which will be implemented across more than five lakh schools in India on September 1, 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma lauded ABRSM’s vision and described the initiative as a transformative step towards linking education with cultural values, pride in institutions, and nation-building. He emphasized that the campaign will inspire both teachers and students to treat schools not merely as centers of instruction, but as temples of learning and service to society.
As part of this landmark programme, lakhs of teachers and students across the country will take a collective pledge on five solemn vows under the banner of ABRSM. These vows stress pride in schools, dedication to holistic development, commitment to Indian culture and values, and responsibility towards the nation. The initiative is expected to be one of the largest educational mobilizations in India.
The banner release ceremony in Poonch was graced by several prominent educationists and ABRSM office bearers. Those present included Retired CEO Kishtwar Sudershan Kumar Sharma, Retired CEO Udhampur Narender Mohan Suri, Darshan Kumar, JK UT Senior Vice President and National Media Prakoshth Pramukh Jeevan Parkash, District President Sanjeev Kumar, District Secretary Sanjeev Dutta, along with Fayaz Ali, Bahadur Singh, Tariq Chugtai, Ravinder Dutta, Deepak Sharma, Ajay Maini, and Ravinder Varma.
The ABRSM leaders reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the success of the September 1 programme and called upon teachers and students across Poonch and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir to participate enthusiastically. They highlighted that the collective pledge would rekindle the ancient guru-shishya tradition while preparing the young generation to contribute meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
