BUDGAM, JANUARY 27, 2026 — Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted an extensive field assessment of Budgam district today to oversee post-snowfall restoration efforts and the status of public utilities.
Visiting the office of the Superintending Engineer (PWD), the Deputy CM mandated the immediate and rationalized deployment of snow-clearing machinery to ensure that both arterial roads and interior links are reopened without delay.
He emphasized that the administration’s priority is the seamless movement of the general public, particularly in the Khansahab, Beerwah, Chadoora, and Charar-i-Sharief areas, where he personally monitored ongoing clearance operations.
During his visit to the Aga Syed Yousuf Memorial (ASYM) District Hospital, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected healthcare delivery and confirmed the availability of life-saving medicines. He issued strict directives to the Power and Jal Shakti departments to restore electricity and water supplies on a war footing.
Additionally, Choudhary inspected a damaged bridge in Chadoora, ordering its swift repair while imposing an immediate ban on all mining activities near vital infrastructure in Nallah Doodganga to prevent further structural risks.
The day concluded with the Deputy CM paying obeisance at the shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani in Charar-i-Sharief. Accompanied by MLA Chadoora Ali Mohammad Dara and senior administrative officials, he engaged with local delegations and the Shrine Intizamia to discuss community grievances.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to public welfare, he assured residents that all essential services would be fully operational at the earliest to minimize hardships caused by the winter weather.
