Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Extends Lohri Greetings and Reviews Public Grievances in Jammu
JAMMU January 12, 2026 — Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir today on the auspicious occasion of Lohri.
Highlighting the festival’s deep cultural roots, he described Lohri as a celebration of nature’s bounties and a symbol of the seasonal transition toward spring.
He expressed his hope that the festivities would usher in a new era of peace, harmony, and prosperity across the Union Territory.
Earlier in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister hosted several public and individual delegations at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu to discuss regional development and local concerns.
Representatives from various sectors—including industrialists, business leaders, students, job aspirants, and civil society organizations—apprised him of pressing issues and demands. Reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive and holistic development, he emphasized the importance of prompt service delivery and ensuring that welfare schemes reach the maximum number of beneficiaries.
To ensure immediate action, he issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers for the speedy resolution of the problems raised and assured the delegations that all genuine grievances would be effectively addressed with the relevant departments.
