RAMBAN, Jan 29, 2026 — In a major push to restore normalcy following heavy snowfall, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted an extensive ground assessment across Ramban district, visiting high-altitude areas including Banihal, Batote, and Patnitop.
Accompanied by MLA Banihal Sajjad Shaheen and MLA Ramban Arjun Singh Raju, the Deputy Chief Minister chaired a high-level review meeting with district heads and chief engineers to fast-track the resumption of road connectivity and essential services.
During the visit, Surinder Choudhary fixed specific timelines for snow clearance on all affected routes and directed the Mechanical Department to station a dedicated officer in Ramban for better machinery management.
Beyond road access, he issued strict instructions to ensure the uninterrupted supply of electricity, water, healthcare services, and vital commodities like food grains and fuel. Emphasizing a “time-bound approach,” the Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with local delegations, assuring them that all grievances regarding winter hardships would be resolved on priority through coordinated departmental action.
