Samba, February 18, 2026 — Strengthening the religious tourism infrastructure in the region, the DDC Chairman of Samba, Keshav Dutt Sharma, officially laid the foundation stone for a new Community Hall and residential rooms near the historic Trimbakeshwar Temple in Purmandal.
Located in close proximity to AIIMS Vijaypur, this ambitious project is estimated to cost ₹1.05 crore. The foundation ceremony was attended by DDC Vice-Chairman Balwan Singh and other prominent DDC members. During the event, Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma highlighted that the construction of this dedicated space for gatherings and accommodation is a vital step in enhancing the spiritual experience for visitors.
He emphasized that the project reflects the administration’s broader commitment to developing robust infrastructure at key religious sites across the district, which in turn boosts local tourism and the regional economy.
The project, which will be executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department, is expected to provide essential relief during peak pilgrimage seasons and major religious festivals.
Once completed, the community hall will serve as a hub for social activities and large-scale religious congregations. By integrating improved accommodation with the existing temple complex, the district authorities aim to transform Purmandal into a more accessible and visitor-friendly spiritual destination.
