DC Ramban Reviews Arrangements for Upcoming Navratras, Mahanavmi, Dussehra and Diwali Festivals

RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 21: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, chaired a meeting of district officers and stakeholders to review the arrangements for the forthcoming festivals of Navratras, Mahanavmi, Dussehra and Diwali.

The meeting was convened to ensure that adequate facilities and essential services are in place to facilitate smooth and safe celebrations across the district.The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo, members of the civil society and senior officers from various departments entrusted with essential and emergency services.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water, adequate sanitation and cleanliness drives in and around religious places, and proper regulation of traffic during the festive period. He also instructed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to ensure sufficient availability of essential commodities including food grains, LPG and other necessities.

The Health Department was asked to keep emergency medical facilities ready, particularly at major congregation sites. The Fire & Emergency Services Department was also directed to keep fire tenders and teams on standby during the festivities. The Deputy Commissioner sought active cooperation from civil society members and religious leaders to ensure smooth observance of the festivals.

He stressed on the importance of inter-departmental coordination so that all arrangements are executed efficiently and in time.The DC directed all departments must work in close synergy to make the upcoming festive season safe, hassle-free and joyful for the residents of Ramban District.
