Emphasizes timely completion of projects under PWD sector schemes
Kathua 13 October : A review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of various development schemes under different sectors was today held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Kathua, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma.The meeting reviewed the status of ongoing works under the PWD (R&B) sector, including schemes funded under NABARD, UT Capex, and City & Town infrastructure development, besides projects under Urban Development and Samagra Shiksha.
While reviewing the progress of PWD sector schemes, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned engineers to expedite completion of road connectivity, bridge construction and building works taken up under different funding heads. He emphasized the need for ensuring quality parameters and timely completion of projects to provide maximum public benefit.The Deputy Commissioner took note of the delays in execution of certain works due to flash floods, incessant rains and landslides which affected the pace of work in several areas.
It was also informed that some projects are awaiting forest clearance and other administrative approvals.The DC directed all executing agencies to address forest clearance issues and other bottlenecks on priority so that the developmental momentum is maintained. He stressed upon close coordination among departments for effective monitoring and timely delivery of public assets.
ADDC Kathua, Surinder Mohan Sharma, CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur and officers from PWD (R&B), Urban Development, Education, RDD and other line departments attended the meeting.
