CTI Kot-Bhalwal Hosts Closing Ceremony for Police Basic Disaster Management Training Course

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14: The Civil Training Institute (CTI) at Kot-Bhalwal marked the successful conclusion of a comprehensive “Basic Disaster Management” training course today with a formal closing ceremony.

The program, which commenced on January 5, 2026, was specifically designed for police personnel across various districts of the Jammu zone to bolster their emergency response capabilities. The primary objective of the month-long curriculum was to equip officers with the specialized knowledge and technical skills necessary to minimize collateral damage and save lives during natural or man-made disasters.

The Commandant of the SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu attended the event as the chief guest, emphasizing the critical role of police personnel as the initial point of contact during crises. In his keynote address, he urged the trainees to act effectively as first responders, highlighting that their swift and informed intervention is often the deciding factor in disaster mitigation.

Following his speech, the Commandant distributed certificates to the participants, recognizing their proficiency in disaster handling and rescue operations.The ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including Deputy Superintendents of Police Manzoor Hussain, Dinesh Gupta, Lalit Kumar, and Rohit Dev Singh.

The event concluded with a formal acknowledgment of the high training standards maintained throughout the course, reinforcing the commitment of the Jammu police to public safety and regional resilience.

By integrating these trained personnel back into their respective districts, the department aims to ensure a more robust and professional response to future emergencies.
