CRPF Flags Off ‘Watan Ko Jano’ Bharat Darshan Tour for Udhampur Students

UDHAMPUR, April 8, 2026 — As part of the Civic Action Programme 2025–26, the 137 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a “Watan Ko Jano” Bharat Darshan educational tour today.

The initiative, aimed at fostering national integration, involves a six-day journey from Udhampur to Varanasi for 20 students and two teachers from Government Higher Secondary School, Garhi.

The flag-off ceremony took place at the 137 Bn CRPF headquarters in SRTC Udhampur, attended by prominent figures including MLA Udhampur west Pawan Kumar Gupta, Shiv Kumar Sharma DIG Udhampur Reasi Range , and Commandant M. K. Sicon, alongside local residents and media personnel.To ensure the participants are well-equipped for the journey, the CRPF provided high-quality travel gear to every student.

The distribution included Yonex tracksuits and matching caps branded with the tour logo, Adidas sports shoes and travel bags, program-specific T-shirts, white socks, and official identity cards. These provisions are part of the CRPF’s effort to ensure the youth feel supported and motivated as they embark on this significant cultural exchange.

The primary objective of this tour is to provide students from Jammu & Kashmir with firsthand exposure to India’s diverse cultural and historical heritage.

By visiting the ancient city of Varanasi, the students will engage in experiential learning that goes beyond the classroom, helping to broaden their perspectives and strengthen their sense of patriotism.

Commandant M. K. Sicon emphasized that such initiatives are vital for building confidence among the youth and inspiring them through guided exposure to the country’s rich traditions.This program underscores the CRPF’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment in the region.

By bridge-building through education and travel, the “Watan Ko Jano” initiative has garnered significant praise from the local community and media.
