CRPF 84 Battalion Concludes Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed Memorial Volleyball Tournament in Ramban

RAMBAN, February 13, 2026 — In a poignant tribute to national sacrifice, the 84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully concluded the Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed Memorial Volleyball Tournament 2026 at Chanderkote.

The week-long sporting event, which began on February 5, saw eight competitive teams from across the Ramban district vying for the top spot under the aegis of the Jammu Sector CRPF.

The grand finale, held at the Tactical Headquarters, featured a high-octane clash where the Chenab Warriors Chanderkote emerged as champions, defeating the Friends Volleyball Club Chanderkote in a decisive straight-set victory (25–19, 25–20, 25–20).

The event drew a massive crowd of sports enthusiasts and local youth, serving as both a competitive arena and a communal space for remembrance.

The closing ceremony was graced by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Arun Gupta, as the chief guest, alongside Commandant N. Ranbir Singh and other senior CRPF officers. Beyond the scoreboard, the tournament focused on fostering deep ties between security forces and the local community.

Officials paid solemn tribute to Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed in the presence of his family, presenting a shawl and memento to Veer Nari Rubina Begum as a mark of eternal gratitude.

Speakers at the event highlighted the CRPF’s role in nation-building and urged the youth to embrace sports for discipline and mental fitness. To further support local talent, the battalion distributed trophies, medals, and sports gear, reaffirming their commitment to channeling the energy of Ramban’s youth toward positive and constructive community engagement.
