CRPF 137 Battalion Hosts Massive Free Medical Camp for Udhampur Villagers under Civic Action Plan
UDHAMPUR, J&K — February 20, 2026:- The 137 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully conducted a high-impact free medical and medicine distribution camp today at Government High School, Roun Village, Udhampur.
Organized under the Civic Action Programme, the initiative was inaugurated by R.S. Pathania, MLA (Udhampur East), alongside M.K. Sicon, Commandant of the 137 Bn. This grassroots healthcare mission aimed to provide high-quality medical consultations and life-saving drugs to the rural population of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that even the most remote residents have access to essential health services.
A specialized medical team featuring Manish Rundla (Medical Officer, 137 Bn), Monika Sharma, Vanika Gupta, and Vilakshi Jamwal provided expert care to over 350 local beneficiaries. The camp offered a comprehensive suite of diagnostic services, including ECG screenings, blood sugar testing, and blood pressure monitoring. Beyond general medicine, the battalion prioritized women’s health; female medical officers led dedicated sessions for local women and girls, offering guidance on mental well-being, reproductive health, and the importance of breaking away from harmful traditional health myths.
To further support the community, the 137 Bn CRPF distributed an extensive inventory of 47 different types of medicines and healthcare products.
The distribution covered everything from critical antibiotics like Azithral 500 MG and Cefexime to chronic care medications like Metformin and Telma 3D.
Recognizing the need for holistic hygiene, the force also provided sanitary pads, skin ointments, and pediatric syrups. Key officers including Kartar Singh (Second-in-Command) and R.L. Meena (Deputy Commandant) supervised the logistics to ensure every patient received their prescribed dosage without delay.
The event received widespread praise from local leaders, including Sarpanch Krishna Kumar, and representatives from national media outlets like ANI and PTI. Community members highlighted the long-standing commitment of the 137 Bn CRPF, noting previous successful camps at Tamatar More, Dharamtal, and Suketar.
By bridging the gap between security forces and civilians through humanitarian aid, the CRPF continues to foster a sense of safety and wellness across the Udhampur district.
