Community-Oriented activities mark Day 5 of Sewa Parv 2025 in Kathua

Kathua, September 21: Continuing the momentum of Sewa Parv 2025 celebrations, a series of impactful activities were organised across different municipal areas of Kathua district, focusing on cleanliness, digital empowerment, health awareness, and active community participation.

The Municipal Council Kathua organised multiple initiatives including a cleanliness campaign at CTU near PWD Colony, the “Ek Ganta Ek Sath” drive at Ward No. 12 water body and adjoining religious places, door-to-door awareness on waste segregation in Wards 8 & 12, besides a special cleanliness drive under AMRUT 2.0 at Ward No. 12.At Lakhanpur, MC conducted awareness drives on PM SVANidhi and PMAY 2.0 schemes along with a cleanliness activity under “Ek Ganta Ek Sath” near the historic Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji statue.

MC Parole undertook a special cleanliness drive at Mata Bala Sundri Ji, upholding the sanctity of the shrine while spreading the message of *Swachhata Hi Seva*.The Forest Protection Force Gamma Unit J-03 Kathua carried out a campus cleanliness drive led by the Deputy Director and FPF personnel, emphasising sustainability and behavioural change in line with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Mission LiFE.

Community health awareness activities were also conducted under the Poshan Project Hiranagar, engaging locals in nutrition and wellbeing-related messages.Further, under the campaign for Reduction of Single Use Plastic, a cleanliness and Polythene-Free Malhar initiative was organised at Malhar. Waste was collected and segregated into dry and wet categories with active participation of PRI members and local residents, coordinated by the Range Officer Malhar and his team.

The day concluded with Sewa Parv activities across Kathua district alongside ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ initiatives, with the spirit of collective action towards a cleaner, healthier and empowered society.
