Nagrota: 29 September :- The 1 J&K Battalion NCC, Srinagar is currently conducting a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at the NCC Training Academy, Nagrota, bringing together 400 cadets from the districts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Kulgam, Ganderbal, Budgam, and Pulwama.
Cadets from both the Junior Division (Classes 8th & 9th) and Senior Division (Colleges) are participating in the 10-day camp, which embodies the NCC motto — “Unity and Discipline.” The camp is designed to enhance physical endurance, leadership qualities, and civic awareness among cadets through intensive training in drill, firing, obstacle courses, and physical fitness.
In addition to core training, cadets are benefitting from a diverse range of sessions on Disaster Management & Fire Safety (by Civil Defence & Fire Services), Martial Arts (self-defence & confidence building), Entrepreneurship (innovation & self-reliance), AI & Cyber Security (responsible digital engagement and social media use), Adolescence & Health Awareness (by National Health Mission)The camp also features visit to Aviation unit, sports competitions in basketball and volleyball to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
This holistic training initiative not only strengthens discipline and unity but also provides young cadets with a platform to learn, interact, and grow together, grooming them into responsible citizens ready to contribute to peace, stability, and development.
