CM Omar Abdullah Unveils ₹84.41 Crore Development Blitz to Transform Ganderbal Infrastructure
GANDERBAL, J&K — February 24, 2026In a major push toward regional modernization, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a suite of multi-sectoral development projects worth ₹84.41 crore in the Ganderbal constituency.
Emphasizing that development must result in “tangible improvements” in daily life, the Chief Minister launched initiatives spanning healthcare, sanitation, education, and road connectivity.
Highlights of the day included the foundation of a ₹7.70 crore town beautification project at Beehama—featuring a Smart Library and upgraded urban aesthetics—and a ₹19.99 crore Sewage Treatment Plant at Rakhi Harran designed to revolutionize local waste management.
To bolster the region’s medical capabilities, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a high-tech CT Scan machine at District Hospital Ganderbal, installed at a cost of ₹8.40 crore, ensuring advanced diagnostic services are available locally.
The developmental surge also focused heavily on basic utilities and rural integration. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, three major Water Supply Schemes at Urpash Naderbagh, Buderkund, and Manasbal were e-inaugurated to ensure clean drinking water for thousands of households.
Furthermore, over ₹12.88 crore was allocated for road connectivity, alongside a ₹9.02 crore investment in upgrading school infrastructure across the district. During his visit, the Chief Minister also distributed Mission Yuva disbursal letters totaling ₹55 lakh to local entrepreneurs.
Concluding the day with a public interaction at Dak Bungalow, CM Abdullah listened to grievances from various delegations, reiterating his administration’s focus on timely execution and quality outcomes to elevate Ganderbal into a model of inclusive growth.
